Consulting History

 

1)  I acted as expert consultant for plaintiff in Wisconsin as they were suing for non-performance to a contract when a machine they purchased did not perform as promised. Based upon my deposition, the defendant lost the case and declared bankruptcy.

2)  I acted as an expert for the defendant steel company. The plaintiff was injured while unloading a coil from a steel rolling mill in Buffalo. I gave an opinion only. This case was disposed of with no deposition or testimony from me.

3)  I acted as expert consultant for defendant steel company in Ohio in defending a lawsuit from a furnace builder where the steel company was refusing to pay for equipment that was unsatisfactory. The case was won by the steel company, before trial, based upon my deposition.

4)  I acted as expert consultant for the plaintiff who was severely injured when he came in contact with 4,160 volts in an electrical substation in NY State. I gave an opinion only. This case was disposed of with no deposition or testimony from me.

5)  I acted as expert consultant for the defendant Electrical Contractor. The plaintiff was severely injured when he came in contact with 13,200 volts in an electrical substation in NY State. I gave an opinion only. This case was disposed of with no deposition or testimony from me.

6)  I acted as expert consultant for the defendant, Aluminum Company in W. Va. I was removed from the case after I disagreed with the defendant's position.

7)  I acted as expert consultant for the defendant who was hurt on a Cincinnati milling machine in Buffalo, NY. The case was won after I inspected the machine and discovered that the cause of the accident was due to a mis-application of some electrical equipment.

8)  I acted as expert consultant for the defendant to calculate the relative positions of two vehicles in an automobile accident with a sheriff's patrol car in NY State. I wrote an opinion only. This case was disposed of with no deposition or testimony from me.

9)  I acted as expert consultant for the defendant rolling mill builder in NY State. I gave an opinion only. This case was disposed of with no deposition or testimony from me.

10)  I acted as expert consultant for the defendant insurance company when the plaintiff sued for payment after a fire in NY State. I gave an opinion only. This case was disposed of with no deposition or testimony from me.

11)  I acted as an expert for the plaintiff widow. Her husband was killed in an accident at an electric arc furnace in a steel mill in Kentucky. I gave a written opinion and was deposed on May 14, 2007. The case was settled before trial in September, 2007.

12)  I acted as expert consultant for the plaintiff. She was injured while operating a paper stacking and gluing machine in NY State. I gave an opinion. The plaintiff settled before trial in early May, 2007.

13)  I acted as an expert electrical consultant for the defendant electrical contractor in a case where an electrician got electrocuted while doing maintenance work in a 480 volt switchgear assembly in a substation in New York State. This case was settled after a mediation conference with no deposition nor written opinion from me.

14)  I acted as an expert electrical consultant for the plaintiff suing a utility in a case where a resident was killed by coming in contact with a 110 volt wire lying on the ground at a residence in New Jersey. This case was successfully settled after I wrote an opinion.

15)  I acted as an expert industrial machinery consultant for a defendant paper manufacturer in New York State. The plaintiff was electrocuted when he came in contact with an improperly grounded machine part of a paper cutting machine. The case was settled after I wrote an opinion.

16)  I am presently acting as an expert industrial machinery consultant for the plaintiff in a case where the plaintiff lost a leg due to an industrial accident while working on a rolling mill at a steel mill in Pennsylvania.

17)  I acted as an expert electrical consultant in a case to determine the cause where a loss of back-up power caused the death of 60,000 laying hens, in an egg farm in New York State, from suffocation. The client was the insurance company. This case was settled with no written opinion nor deposition from me.

18)  I negotiated to be an expert industrial machinery consultant in the case of a steel mill that has been denied the tax preference of other steel mills in the same state of Indiana that do similar work and have similar equipment. Nothing came from this negotiation.

19)  I acted as an expert industrial machinery consultant for the defendant furnace manufacturer in a case where a worker lost his hand while working on a furnace of molten aluminum in New York State. I submitted an Affidavit of Opinion. The case was settled successfully in June of 2013, with no further involvement from me, when the furnace manufacturer was removed from the case.

20)  I acted as a forensic expert for the insurance company in the litigation over the cause of a fire in an addition being constructed to an apartment complex in New York State.

21)  I acted as an electrical expert for the plaintiff injured party where a worker was injured by a furnace explosion in a steel mill in Pennsylvania. I wrote an opinion only. The case was not pursued since all of the bona fide defendants had gone out of business.

22)  I acted as a forensic expert for the insurance company to determine the cause of a fire in a residence garage, in New York State, that started in a personal handicap scooter while its battery was being recharged. I wrote an Opinion only.

23)  I acted as an electrical expert to determine the cause and suggest corrective measures to repair the damage caused by a lightning storm at an egg farm in New York State. This case is finished after I gave a written opinion. I wrote an Opinion only.

24)  I acted as an expert industrial machinery consultant for the plaintiff injured party in a case where a steel worker was injured while operating a bar straightening machine in a steel processing plant in New York State. This case was ended due to the lack of evidence.

25)  I acted as an electrical expert for the defendant electrical contractor where a maintenance worker was killed while working on an amusement ride in an amusement park on a boardwalk on the New Jersey shore. The defendant (my client)was removed from the case after I gave a written opinion and was deposed.

26)  I acted as a forensic expert to determine the cause of a house fire in New York State. I wrote the needed opinion for the insurance company.

27)  I acted as an electrical expert for the plaintiff in a case where a residence in New York State got damaged by water in the basement caused by the neighbor digging a trench and cutting into the 120 volt power feed to the plaintiff's house. The case was successfully completed in 2012 after I testified at trial

28)  I acted as an electrical expert for the insurance company to determine the cause of a refrigeration compressor failure due to a power interruption in a food processing plant in upstate New York. This case closed after it was found that the insurance didn't cover the event.

29)  I analyzed bids for the replacement of transformers damaged by lightning for an egg farm in New York State.

30)  I did preliminary investigation of the cause of fire and short circuit failure of a line-up of 4,160 Volt switchgear in a hospital in New York State.

31)  I acted as an expert electrical consultant for the defendant electrical contractor which was being sued by the printing company for the damage to and loss of business due to the improper wiring of a printing press after its move to a new location in New York State. I wrote an Opinion only.

32)  I negotiated to be the expert for the plaintiff who had his hand amputated as the result of an accident on a tube mill (a machine that makes tubing of various sizes from flat metal stock) in Alabama. This occurred when he was performing a routine maintenance job of replacing rolls in the machine. Nothing came of this negotiation.

33)  I investigated the cause of a 2,500 KVA 34.5 KV to 480 Volt transformer at a chip making Facility in New York State. I wrote an opinion only.

34)   I am Acting as an expert industrial machinery consultant for the injured plaintiff where the plaintiff was severely injured while cleaning the area in a steel warehouse in Pennsylvania.

35)  I acted as an expert electrical consultant for the defendant architectural firm in a case where the plaintiff was injured while riding on the uplifted forks of a fork lift in New York State and came in contact with an overhead transmission line. This case was not pursued due to the lack of evidence.

36)  I acted as an expert to determine the origin & cause of a house fire in New York State. This fire was supposedly started in a room dehumidifier.

37)  I acted as an industrial machinery expert for the defendant state taxing authority in a case where the plaintiff steel mill is demanding a reduction in sales and use taxes charged on equipment improvements in Arkansas. This case was settled during trial after I was deposed and before I testified.

38)  i acted as an expert for the defendant construction company in a case where a worker received an injury to her hand while working on a leveling and cut-to-length line in a can-making facility in New York State.

39)  I acted as an expert for the plaintiffs in a case where three men were badly injured (one of them died) when an electric arc furnace blew up in a steel mill in Pennsylvania. I wrote an Opinion. The case was settled successfully before trial in 2012.

40)  I acted as an expert for the defendant machine builder in case where a worker was killed in a scrap crusher in a steel scrap yard in New York State. This case went nowhere when the plaintiff did not press the lawsuit.

41)  I acted as an expert for the plaintiffs in a case where a worker in a steel melt shop was severely injured by an oxygen lance in a steel mill in Indiana. Nothing came of this case when no third party was identified as bring responsible.

42)  I acted as an expert for the plaintiff who is suing after he was severely injured when a pulley assembly being used to guide a set of 250MCM cables into a 6" conduit fell and struck him on the head in a water treatment facility in New York State. I wrote an Opinion, after which the plaintiff (my client) was awarded damages.

43)  I acted as an expert for plaintiff village that was suing for non-performance of a set of water pumping equipment in New York State. The case went nowhere due to lack of funding from the village.

44)   I acted as an expert for injured plaintiff who was injured while replacing the fan belt on a roof exhaust fan in a hospital in New York State.

45)   I acted as an expert for the defendant general contracting Co. The plaintiff was injured when struck by a 120 volt wire on a construction job in New York State.

46)  I acted as an expert for the defendant electrical contractor who was being sued for negligence after installing electrical circuitry in a Pizza Hut restaurant in New York State. Subsequently a worker was shocked by 120 volts from an improperly grounded piece of kitchen equipment. I wrote an Opinion that showed that the defendant contractor (my client) was indeed at fault due to mistakes made by their workers. Thus the case was not pursued.

47)  I acted as an expert for the plaintiff steel warehouse operation in California that was suing for a breach of contract. The plaintiff bought a slitting machine from the defendant company that was supposed to be rated at 40,000 pounds and discovered that it was rated at 20,000 pound capacity. The case was settled after I wrote an Opinion that included calculations that proved that components of the subject machine were indeed too weak to do the promised job.

48)  I acted as an expert in a case where an electric arc furnace erupted in Pennsylvania severely injuring a worker.

49)  I acted as an expert to testify to a New Jersey Zoning Board that the location of a new substation was against the better good of the community.

50)  I acted as an electrical expert for the defendant in a patent infringement case concerning electrical controls from a Florida company against a Texas-based defendant.

51)  I am acting as a machinery expert for the plaintiff who suffered loss of fingers while working on a press brake in New York State

52)  I acted as an expert for the defendant school district in a case where a maintenance person was injured by a natural gas explosion when the cover at the base of an outdoor light fixture was opened for inspection in New York State.

53)  I acted as an expert for the plaintiff who had his right arm pulled off at the elbow while operating a pasta machine in New York State.

54)  I acted as an expert for the plaintiff who was severely injured while working on a continuous galvanizing line at a steel mill in Indiana.

55) I acted as an expert for the plaintiff worker who was lost a part of a finger on a blank check printing machine in New York State.

56)  I acted as a Consulting Electrical Engineer for the defendant in a fire investigation where a multiple head saw caught fire in a pallet fabricating company in Ontario, Canada.

57)  I acted as an expert for the defendant maintenance contractor in a case where a worker was injured when he fell through a hole in the floor while the defendant was doing maintenance work on a hot metal flume in a blast furnace shop in Indiana.

58) I acted as an expert for the plaintiff worker who was killed when an explosion occurred in a vacuum electron beam titanium melting furnace in Pennsylvania.

59) I acted as an expert for the plaintiff worker from an outside contractor who was injured while doing cleaning on the transfer table on a steel bar rolling mill in Ohio.

60) I am acting as an expert for the plaintiff employee who lost some fingers while cleaning a printing press in New York State.

61)  I acted as an expert for the defendant company against a claim that they had sold 27 KV circuit breakers that did not have proper interlocks. 

62)   I am acting as an expert for the plaintiff who was shocked and burned when a piece of roofing material he was holding came in contact with a high voltage electrical line in New Jersey.  

63)  I  Acted as an expert for plaintiff OSHA to enforce claims and abatement after two electric arc furnaces explosions caused injuries in Pennsylvania. The case was settled after I wrote an opinion.

64)  I Acted as an expert for the plaintiff government agency (OSHA) to enforce claims and abatement concerning the proper PPE to be worn in proximity to molten metal.
